Can the practice of Yoga transform suffering?
What is the "pain body" and how do we recognize when it arises in our consciousness? Join Cathy Valentine and Nieda Tice for this workshop as we explore the ways yoga stills the mind, bringing us into the present moment.
Through present moment awareness, we are able to practice self-study; finding ways to cultivate freedom from pain and a deeper awareness of bliss.
Through pranayama (breathing practice), asana (postures), meditation, and deep relaxation we will work through the 5 Koshas or layers of our being. These layers contain the heart/mind/emotional complex that we must learn to navigate and manage in this experience of being human.
A key practice to transforming suffering is to recognize and starve this separate entity within us that Eckhart Tolle calls the "pain body". By coming back to our truest, deepest Self, suffering can be transformed through the practice of Yoga.
This workshop will include an extended savasana (relaxation) with sound bath. Relax deeply with the sounds of bowls, gongs, drums, and more.
